What is a data protection audit?
A data protection audit puts your current data protection efforts to the test. To do this, we work together to determine what data you process, how, where and why. If there are still gaps, we will uncover them and present them in a report together with recommendations for action to close these gaps. At the end of the audit, you will receive a secure data protection management system with all the documentation required by the GDPR, which you only need to implement.
What do I need to consider when it comes to data protection?
The overriding principle of data protection is that personal data may only be processed if there is permission to do so. This can be the express consent of the data subject. This also applies, for example, if the processing serves to fulfill a contract. Data must also be processed sparingly. This means: "as much as necessary, as little as possible". You must protect the data in accordance with current standards and provide the data subjects with information on request, among other things. You will learn about all other regulations in the course of the audit.
You must prove that you comply with the above principles in various documents, such as a privacy policy and a processing directory. We will create these documents for you as part of the audit.
When do I have to carry out an audit?
The GDPR does not prescribe a mandatory audit. However, an audit is useful to ensure that all data processing is recorded and legally compliant. You can carry out an audit yourself or commission us as an external auditor.
